Ok, readers, here's the deal. As much fun as it's been hunting for locations, picking out rings, and looking around for THE dress, we decided to go another route entirely. A few days ago we heard from a friend about his recent engagement and the little ceremony they are doing since he's going overseas for a tour and, like Douglas' grandfather, would just assume get it done with early. While neither Douglas nor I are in the military, I've always favored a BIG party over any kind of wedding. So, with our friends as inspiration, we filled out the paperwork and VIOLA! - WE'RE MARRIED!!!!
More details on the party to come later on (like where/when), but at least now we can move all of the budge (which we haven't really figured out yet) into a mighty fine shindig.
